Why do I need to tell the court what I know?
A witness is someone who may know something important. You may have seen or heard something about a possible crime, or you may have been a victim of a crime. Perhaps you have information about something concerning a child.
The judge or sheriff needs people like you to tell the court what they know so that they can build up a picture of what happened.
