Identifying Someone In the Courtroom

Before you go to court, perhaps the police asked you to show them the person you've told them about. If you did this, you'll probably not be asked to do it again at the court.

But sometimes, witnesses are asked in the courtroom to identify person they're talking about. You might be asked to look around the court and to say if you see him or her.

You should take your time and look carefully. If you see the person you should point to them. If you don't see the person, you should say so. If you're very worried about seeing someone in court, you should tell the procurator fiscal or lawyer or someone else who can help you.
