Being a witness at court is not always easy, especially for young people. Adults will understand that you may be worried.

The law allows the court to provide you with different ways to help you give your evidence. The procurator fiscal or reporter, lawyer or social worker will ask you if you would like to give evidence by:

• Using a television link in another room within the court building
• Using a screen in the courtroom
• Having a support person with you when you use a screen or television link

These different ways of giving evidence are called 'special measures'.
