Courts are busy places and a lot of planning and preparation is needed before everything is ready to start.
If it's taken a long time to get a date, you may already be feeling a bit fed-up. If you are feeling like this, tell the procurator fiscal or children's reporter, your lawyer or your social worker if you have one or someone at the Witness Service or VIA (Victim Information and Advice).
Sometimes you might be told that the date has been changed or you may have started to give evidence and be told to come back to finish on another day. You may have to wait a while before it's your turn to give evidence.
